Detailed Trip Plan

Day 1: Welcome To Tanzania

Arrive anytime at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), Tanzania. You will meet us at the airport and pick up with a private transfer to Arusha.

We will gather in the evening for a pre-safari briefing and an equipment check. We will also confirm you have the appropriate mandatory medical coverage and travel insurance. Dinner and Overnight at Ilboru Safari Lodge, where the remainder of the day is at leisure

Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire National Park

0830hrs drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park for game drives with picnic lunch boxes. Located slightly off the main safari route, Tarangire National Park is a lovely, quiet park in Northern Tanzania. It is most famous for its elephant migration, birding, and authentic safari atmosphere.

The majority of travellers to the region either miss out on Tarangire altogether or venture into the park for a matter of hours - leaving swathes of Tarangire virtually untouched! Late afternoon depart the park and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Inn.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park - Lake Manyara

After breakfast, check out and drive to Manyara National Park with lunch from the lodge. Afterwards, proceed for an afternoon game drive at Manyara National Park.

Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo and others. Late afternoon depart the park and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Inn.

Day 4: Lake Manyara - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high-lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

We head to the central Park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the Park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.

We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight in Emabalakai Tented Camp or Matawi Tented Camp.

Day 5 & 6: Full Game Drive At Serengeti National Park

This is truly an exciting day- a full-day game drive at Serengeti national park. These are the perfect days to take as many photos as you can.

Make sure that your camera is well charged. During these days, expect to view as many wildlife species as possible.

Our tour guide knows the specific spots where you can always view particular wildlife. It is always possible to view the big 5 and other wildlife species.

If you are interested in viewing a particular species, it is always better to mention it to the tour guide such that the perfect planning is done. You will spend the whole day in the African wilderness while viewing wildlife and you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds.

Later, you shall travel back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight in Emabalakai Tented Camp or Matawi Tented Camp.

Day 7: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed.

The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometres wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps and open grasslands.

These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals – including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest. Dinner and overnight at Rhino Lodge.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater To Arusha

After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Crater and descend inside the crater for game drives with picnic lunch boxes. The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in East Africa to see the Big Five.

It is a great way to start your African safari adventure. It is one of the most beautiful natural wildlife safari sites in the world and an exceptional place to interact with people from the Maasai tribe. Late afternoon, ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha.
