Detailed Trip Plan

Day 1: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport in the morning or the previous night, your safari guide will pick you up to begin your journey.

You'll embark on a road trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda, making a brief stop at the equator for photos.

The drive will take you through small towns, markets, plantations, and ranches, providing an engaging experience.

You will arrive late in the evening and check in at the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking, Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

We shall start the day early by going to the Kyambura Gorge of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will hike through a dense tropical forest looking for chimpanzees and other primates.

You will spend around 1 hour with the chimps.

From the chimps, you can have a short game drive that winds up at your lodge for some relaxation and lunch.

After lunch, you will enjoy the relaxing boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This takes you through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and many animals will be seen drinking at the water's edge.

The launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. Elephants, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles are some of the common large animals seen here - along with over 100 bird species.

From the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for your overnight rest.

Day 3: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable NP via Ishasha

After an early breakfast, you will embark on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - home of Mountain Gorillas.

You will pass through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth N.P where you will have a game drive in search of tree climbing lions.

From Ishasha, you will drive through the Kigezi Highlands and arrive at your accommodation in the evening. After checking-in, have dinner and rest early as you prepare gorillas the next day.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable N.P, Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

Today is your day to meet the mountain gorillas - our evolutionary cousins in the forest.

Gorilla trekking starts with a briefing by the UWA (Uganda Wildlife Authority) officials to give you a grounding about gorillas, the forests they live in, the conservation as well as the rules and guidelines you must follow on your trek.

You will then be led by experienced rangers who know the forest and your search for the gorillas will start. The gorilla trek takes you through thick rainforests and steep slopes where the trails are basic footpaths, and yet the beauty overshadows the challenge of the hike.

Once you reach the gorillas, the challenge of the hike goes out of your mind, and you are glad for every weird tree root you had to step over or hold on to as you trekked to the gorillas.

As a group, you will spend 1 hour with the gorillas, watching them go about their day with the silverback leading the family, the females taking care of the young ones as well as the young gorillas playing around with each other.

After your time with the gorillas, you will leave the forest taking with you memories that will last a lifetime. We'll then go back to the lodge for some relaxation- to let it all sink in.

The rest of the evening can be spent at leisure at the lodge, or you can go for a walk around the neighbourhood.

You will go back to the lodge to refresh and then transfer from Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi where you will spend the night. Depending on the time when you are done with the gorilla trek, you might have time for an optional community visit before leaving Bwindi.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe, Departure

In the morning, you'll drive back to Kampala/Entebbe from Bunyonyi, stopping for lunch and photos along the way, with an expected evening arrival.

Your safari guide will take you to the airport for your flight home or drop you off at your accommodation if you're staying longer in Uganda.

This will mark the end your safari trip with us.
