Etosha National Park is Namibia's most popular place for wildlife game viewing. The park has 4 of the big 5 African safari animals, as well as favourites like giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and more than 300 species of birds.

The most iconic feature of Etosha National Park is the Etosha Salt Pan, which is so big, it can be seen from outer space. The Etosha salt pan covers 23% of the parks' area.

The salt pan for which the park is named was formed about 16,000 years ago when the Kunene river changed its course and stopped flowing into Etosha.

In Etosha National Park, you will see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, black rhinoceros, springbok, hyenas, cheetahs as well as so many birds including flamingos, pelicans, Ostriches, and the heaviest flying bird, the kori bustard.
