Moremi Game Reserve is situated on the eastern side of Botswana's Okavango Delta. Moremi Game Reserve covers about 40% of the Okavango Delta.
Moremi was designated as a game reserve such that the local (BaSarwa) bushmen that previously lived in the park can stay and use the reserve's resources.
Besides having the largest population of African painted dogs, there are large numbers of Cape Buffalo, elephants, Lion. leopard, crocodile, hippo, giraffe, and rhinos among others. Combined with hundreds of bird species, Moremi is a true safari-goers dream.

When To Visit
Moremi Game Reserve is best visited in the dry months between July and October when animals are concentrated around the water. This is also when the temperatures are moderate and more comfortable for exploring the wilderness.
It is also during this period that large herds migrate from the Kalahari desert in search of water and pasture.
Getting There
Moremi Game Reserve is located near Maun Internationa airport, which is less than an hour's drive away. You can also fly in directly from Gaborone to Maun Airport.
